Pitch Lake - Trinidad

One of the many wonders in Trinidad and Tobago is the Pitch Lake. Nestled in the town of La Brea, this lake is considered the largest tar deposit in the world. There is a museum within the compound as well as several pool in which visitors are allowed to bathe.

According to reports, the lake is approximately 40 hectares wide and 75 metres deep. No matter the amount of asphalt that has been removed, its constantly being replenished thus the idea that its infinite.

I recommend anyone within Trinidad on vacation should visit this wonder and take away a bottle of water from the lake.
